Self Love Tonic - A Heart Warming Affair

Home at last and I'm nestling in with my home-made sweet n' spicy love tonic. Self-love tonic that is (of course!). I called it that because when you take a sip it's like drinking a warm, buzzing, nourishing ball of red passion fire that goes right down into the depths of your belly, destroying everything and anything non-love in it's path! It's like having a sauna, completing a 21 day detox AND getting a 20 second hug from your favourite lover all at once. Seriously good - and good for you.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 0.75Litres of organic, freshly squeezed OJ
  • Medium size bulb of fresh ginger - grated
  • Two small bulbs of fresh turmeric – grated (or 2 tbsp of powder)
  • Cracked black pepper*
  • 1 fresh chilli – diced (more if you like it hot)
  • 1 Tbsp virgin coconut oil*

*Cracked black pepper is an essential partner to turmeric as it assists in the absorption and assimilation of nutrients. Piperine has also been shown to increase turmerics bioavailability by 2000%, and the taste is undetectable – promise.

*Turmeric is fat-soluble, so by using virgin coconut oil not only increases turmeric’s health benefits, but your also getting more bang for your buck

How To:

1: Everything in the blender and blend away until the chilli chunks turn into tiny speckles. Heat your desired amount on the stove, I usually measure out a small cup per serve, and store the rest in the refrigerator. The Love will keep loving for up to four days.

2: Light some candles, put on the defuser, cuddle up with a big blanket, crab your favourite book/pet/person and enjoy. Don't forget to take a couple of big belly breaths first!

Peace, love, light, blessings and all that stuff xx
